Over the course of summer 2019- 2020 I worked on television as a journalist/ presenter for Nine News. I presented the weather and fire warnings for the rural Victoria Region.

This experience taught me how to present professionally in front of a camera, helped me build upon my presenting and communication skills and gave me an in depth understanding into the journalism industry alongside national company. I was given the opportunity to work with the team as we wrote and developed the scripts daily.

HerCanberra Internship

October 2018- May 2019

During my university degree I took up an internship with a local Canberran magazine HerCanberra. It is a womens focused and local community based online magazine producing a number of daily articles about events, people and lifestyle in the Capital as well as a published seasonal magazine.

Throughout this experience I was given a range of different stories to write about each day helping me build upon my research and interviewing skills. This gave me the opportunities to networked with other journalists and businesses in the community, gave my the freedom to be creative in content development. These tasks gave me the responsibility to abide by time constraints and the personal initiative to complete published articles, I always remained well organised and on task while expanding my written and verbal communication skills.

Middle East Journalism Exchange
June- July 2019

During my Journalism degree at the University of Canberra I was selected alongside five other students and given a scholarship to travel to the Middle East for a cross cultural journalism exchange. We spent three weeks travelling in Qatar and throughout Jordan learning about the journalism sphere in the Middle East and the relationship it shares with the western world. We were given the opportunity to tour around the Al Jazeera news rooms in Qatar, work with other university students and collaborate with investigative journalists in Jordan. This experience not only taught me strong and effective communication skills in a professional setting but expanded my knowledge of international journalism, media bias, effective cross cultural communication and the in depth process of world wide news organisations.

During this time I produced a number of written and video journalism pieces about womens fashion, feminism, international inspiration in traditional clothing and cultural similarities and difference with food.
